Tennessee Golf Association announces 3-year partnership with Renasant Bank

Renasant_x_TGAFRANKLIN, Tenn. — The Tennessee Golf Association was founded in 1914 with the goal of Driving Tennessee’s Golf Community Forward. Today, 112 years later, a new partnership has been formed with that same goal in mind.

The TGA and Renasant Bank announced a three-year partnership to support the TGA’s efforts to improve the experience for golfers in the Volunteer State. From elevating championships to supporting the continued growth of membership, which reached 50,000 members at the end of last year.

“We’re proud to partner with the Tennessee Golfers Association as their Official Bank because it reflects who we are at Renasant: committed to community, tradition, and helping people perform at their best,” said Renasant Chief Marketing Officer, John Oxford. “Golf brings people together across generations, and so does relationship banking. This partnership allows us to support the game we love while strengthening the communities we serve and helping Tennessee golfers succeed both on and off the course.”

As the Official Bank of the TGA, Renasant will help strengthen the relationships forged with members throughout Tennessee and the financial goals of the association. With branches from Memphis to Bristol, Renasant is able to help many TGA members achieve their financial goals as well.

“We are excited to have Renasant Bank as a partner with the TGA,” Tennessee Golf Association Executive Director Allison Brown said. “Their commitment to tradition, customer service and supporting the local communities aligns with the mission of the TGA.  We are excited to have Renasant Bank help us elevate golf and our championships across the state.”

Renasant’s support will go directly to the TGA’s goals of continuing to grow the state's membership and enhancing the experience of players participating in TGA Championships throughout the state.

About the Tennessee Golf Association: In 1914, the Tennessee Golf Association (TGA) was organized at Memphis Country Club as an association of five private clubs. The objective of the Association, as stated in its Constitution, "shall be to promote the game of golf in Tennessee." From these small origins, the TGA has become an association that now includes over 200 member clubs, courses, and organizations, comprised of over 50,000 individuals from across the state. The TGA provides numerous services to its member clubs, including the handicap service. Working closely with the Tennessee Section PGA, the TGA operates the USGA's Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN), which provides a uniform handicap service to all golfers in Tennessee. Additionally, the TGA runs 21 championships throughout the state, some of which trace their roots back to 1913, when the first State Amateur was held at Nashville Golf & Athletic Club.
