Scott Stallings Kids Play Free Junior Golf Initiative Expanding to Chattanooga Area
CHATTANOOGA (March 27, 2023) – The Scott Stallings Kids Play Free Junior Golf Program is expanding.
Beginning April 4, 2023, the program will be offered at three courses in the Chattanooga area – Bear Trace at Harrison Bay, Flagstone and Falcon Pointe.
Kids ages 14 and under will be able to play golf for no charge at these courses Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) – any time of day at Flagstone and Falcon Pointe and after 4 p.m. at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay.
“We are so thankful for Scott and Jennifer Stallings and beyond excited to see Kids Play Free continue to expand throughout Tennessee,” Tennessee Golf Foundation president Whit Turnbow said. “The Kids Play Free partnership with the host facilities will have a tremendous impact on kids in the Chattanooga region that have a desire to learn the game but may not have the resources to do so.”
“Lamar Mills and his team in Chattanooga are making great strides to deliver more affordable and accessible programming and Kids Play Free is a great first step!”
The KPF program was formed by the Tennessee Golf Foundation in 2015. At its inception, the program offered free rounds of golf to youth at Beverly Park Par 3 Golf Course in Knoxville. From 2015-2017, 2,351 free rounds of golf were played through the program.
In January 2018, three-time PGA Tour winner and Tennessee native Scott Stallings became involved in a rebranding effort of the program. With Stallings providing his time and resources to Kids Play Free, it has since grown to over 10,000 rounds played per year. It is available at Beverly Park, Concord Park (Knoxville), The Patch (Oak Ridge), Bloomfield Links (Murfreesboro) and Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain (Crossville).
