Ricker family wins their first Parent-Child Championship trophy

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — The 47th Parent-Child Championship made for another fun Father’s Day weekend at Stonehenge Golf Course, with Todd and Bryson Ricker capturing their first tournament victory on June 21. The pair notched 147 Stableford points in their win, edging Ryan and Walker Greer by eight points. 

The Stableford format used for scoring in the tournament rewards players for low-scoring holes without taking away from their points score for worse performances. Players score points for bogeys or better, but don’t lose any points for carding a double bogey or higher.

After Round One, the Rickers led the field with 76 points, followed closely by both of the McCann family’s pairings — Ryan and Elizabeth McCann (71) and Ryan and Jack McCann (73). When Sunday rolled around, though, the Rickers put up another dominant performance with 71 points on the day, becoming the only duo to notch 70+ points in both rounds of the event.

Along with the Ricker duo, four other flight winners took home some hardware:

• Championship Flight Winners: Ryan and Walker Greer with 139 Stableford points

• Flight 1 Winners: Brooks and Patrick Reilly with 129 points

• Flight 2 Winners: Doug and Christian Jennings with 122 points

• Flight 3 Winners: Kim and David Klein with 93 points

The tournament will return to Stonehenge next year for the 20th anniversary of its playing at the Crossville staple.
