One Tennessee golf company keeps producing PGA TOUR winners

softspikes2BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — From the start of the PGA TOUR season through Rory McIlroy’s title defense at The Masters and Matt Fitzpatrick’s playoff victory, every single winner has used this one piece of equipment: Softspikes.

Based just outside of Nashville in Brentwood, Tennessee, Softspikes has been trusted by all 15 PGA TOUR winners in 2026 to keep them grounded. The replaceable traction has dominated leaderboards across golf beyond just the PGA TOUR, and its trophy case continues to grow.

McIlroy certainly needed all the traction he could get for his second shot on the 72nd hole of The Masters from the pine straw with the tournament on the line. Despite the loose pine straw, McIlroy’s feet were locked into the ground and he was able to secure his second-straight Masters title.

“On a course like Augusta National, where conditions can change so quickly and every shot matters, traction is absolutely critical,” said Joe Henderson, President of Softspikes. “To see the world’s best players continue to trust replaceable spikes, and to deliver back-to-back wins at The Masters in those conditions, really speaks to the performance benefits our technology provides.”

Amateur golfers, however, tend to overlook the importance of traction when it comes to their golf game. While they may not need to adjust their spikes constantly to adapt to course conditions, fresh spikes can be the difference between full connection to the ground and your feet slipping out during your swing.

Softspikes recommends replacing your spikes about every 15 rounds to maintain optimal traction in your golf game.
