Jordan Thomas victorious again at U.S. Adaptive Open

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Nashville’s Jordan Thomas won for the second time in the Multiple Limb Amputee Category at the 5th U.S. Adaptive Open Championship last week at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.

Thomas, who lost both of his legs in a family boating accident two decades ago while attending McCallie School, shot 5-over 221 to win by six shots. He also finished 17th overall in the Men’s Division.

“Gratitude. Resilience. Perspective. Community. Love. Encouragement. It is the most gratifying week I have pretty much all year,” Thomas said. “To see these people that I care about and love, to compete against them but to support them, it's a family and it's a privilege to be a part of it.”

The 37-year-old Thomas has used the tragic occurrence in his teenage years to establish the Jordan Thomas Foundation, a non-profit organization that has served more than 180 children in receiving needed prostheses to lead healthy and active lives.

Thomas last won his category in 2022 when he also finished 5th overall, then was runner-up in the Multiple Limb Amputee category the past two years.

Luke Carroll of Nashville placed 5th in the Coordination Impairment category and earned a tie for 21st in the Men’s Overall competition with a final score of 12-over 228.

Kenny Green of Smyrna qualified for the second year in a row in the Lower Limb Impairment category. He shot 8-over-par over two days, just missing the cut to play in the final round.
