Tennessee Women's Senior Amateur Championship

Event Dates: Monday-Tuesday, October 2-3, 2017

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, September 20th  at 5:00 p.m. CDT

Eligibility: Open to all female amateur golfers with the following requirements: (1) meet the USGA policy on transgender individuals, (2) have an active GHIN Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course, (3) have a Handicap Index of at least 36.0 at the time of entry, and (4) are at least 50 years of age on the first day of the championship (October 2).

Field: The field is limited to 80 players.  The first 80 entry applications received at the TGA Office will be accepted into the field.  Subsequent entry applications will be placed on a waiting list based upon time of receipt.

Format: Play will be contested at 36-holes of stroke play (this includes the first 18-hole qualifying round).

Qualifying Round: The first round of stroke play will be the qualifying round.  After all qualifying scores are posted, the field will be divided into flights with all like scores in the same flight--the number of flights will be determined by the total number of participants (for a full field, there will be a total of 8 flights).  The remaining round will be contested within each flight.  if odd numbers occur within the flights, the Women's Senior Amateur will establish groups of 3's and 4's within each flight to ensure that all players within a flight play with fellow players in their flight.  The Tennessee Women's Senior Amateur Champion will come from the Championship Flight only.  The course set up will be to achieve a course rating ranging from approximately 69.0 to 70.0.

Awards: (1) The overall champion from the Championship Flight will be named the 2017 Tennessee Women's Senior Amateur Champion and will receive a crystal trophy.  In addition, she will have her name engraved on the Connie Day Trophy on permanent display at Golf House Tennessee.  (2) Awards will be given to the top finishers in each flight.  The number of awards per flight will be determined by the total number of participants.

Super Senior Award: A Super Senior Award will be given in each flight based on the 36-hole total score.  Participants, age 65+, are eligible.  If there are not Super Seniors in a flight, no Super Senior Award will be given in a flight.

Player Fees (Golf/Cart/Range): These fees are included in your entry fee for all rounds of the championship proper.

Practice Round (Sunday, October 1): Each contestant is responsible for paying for her practice round fee of $25.00 + tax and for making her own practice round tee time.  Players may call Fox Den Country Club (865-966-9771)  beginning September 20th to set their tee time for Sunday, October 1. 

Welcome Party (Sunday, October 1) & Awards Lunch (Tuesday, October 3): These fees are included in your entry fee.  Additional fees will apply for guests.

Personal Charges: Credit carts and cash will be accepted at Fox Den Country Club.
