Tennessee Challenge Cup Amateur Team Announced





FRANKLIN, TENN (October 18th, 2017)


The 2017 Tennessee Challenge Cup matches begin in just under one week on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, TN. The Amateur team will take on the Pros from the Tennessee PGA Section with a chance to win the cup back after the Pros won the cup in 2016.


The Amateur team was selected on TGA Player of the Year standings and the senior team was based on the TGA Senior Player of the year points.

Rob Garland- Competed in U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship

Philip Lee- Made it to the Round of 32 at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship

About the Tennessee Golf Association

In 1914, the Tennessee Golf Association (TGA) was organized at Memphis Country Club as an association of five private clubs. The objective of the Association, as stated in its Constitution, "shall be to promote the game of golf in Tennessee." From these small origins the TGA has become an association which now includes over 200 member clubs, courses, and organizations, comprised of over 32,000 individuals from across the state.
