Last year Mike Poe and Bob Rice became the first team to beat Danny Green and Steve Golliher ending a three year unbeaten streak. That match took place in the semifinals. Tim Jackson and Buzz Fly ended up knocking off Poe/Rice in the championship match last year. Poe/Rice got revenge yesterday, defeating Fly/Jackson 2&1 in the semifinals. In the final match, it was the Green/Golliher team seeking revenge.

The championship match was the definition of a back and forth affair. Neither team won consecutive holes the entire match. In fact, each time one team won a hole, the other answered back, even if the answer took a while. Green/Golliher took a 1up lead after winning No. 7. The teams proceeded to halve the next eight holes until Poe/Rice won No. 16 to square the match. The three time champions immediately regained their 1up lead by winning No. 17. Green/Golliher halved No. 18 to win the championship match 1up, becoming the first team to capture four Senior Four-Ball Championships.

In the Super Senior portion, the co-medalists from stroke play Spitalny/Williams and Dial/Felker met in the championship match. Dial/Felker won No. 2 to take an early lead and had a two-up lead heading to No. 13. Spitalny/Williams caught fire and proceeded to win the next three holes to turn a two-hole deficit into a 1up lead. Both teams halved Nos. 16-17 leaving Spitalny/Williams 1up going into No. 18. Spitalny/Williams completed the comeback and put an exclamation point on the match winning No. 18 to win 2up clinching the Super Senior Four-Ball Championship
