Korth Dynasty Continues at 38th Parent Child Championship
For the eighth time since 2005 Wes and Paul Korth add their names to the annual trophy given to the winner of the Parent Child Championship.
Wes and Paul Korth are always a force to be reckend with during the Parent Child Championship. The dynamic duo had already won seven titles. However, after scoring 68 points yesterday, there were multiple teams between the Korth's and another title. They needed a pair of impressive rounds to rise to the top of the leaderboard Sunday. The most accomplished team in Parent Child Championship History was more than up for the challenge. The Korth's got right to work during the final round. After hitting the flagstick on the par 5 2nd hole, Wes had a tap in for an eight point eagle. The Korth's added 72 more points to post the highest point total of the event with an 80. The 80 points combined with the first round 68 turned the seven time winners into eight timers with a two day total of 148. Rick and Scotty Hudson came in second with 137 points.
Doug and Mark Ryerson won the first flight thanks to a 69 second round that got their team total to 125. Ethan and Randall Ray won the second flight with 118 points after scoring 74 in the second round. Chad and Tracy Wilkins won the third flight with 101 points.
This was the first year the Championship moved from the Father Son to the Parent Child. The TGA is excited to welcome mothers and daughters to the fun filled weekend.
