AUSTIN CHINN, PGA, NAMED TENNESSEE GOLF FOUNDATION MEMPHIS/WEST TENNESSEE REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Tennessee Golf Foundation (TGF) is excited to announce Austin Chinn, PGA, as our Memphis/West Tennessee Regional Director

As Regional Director, Chinn will be responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing programs geared toward growing golf and drawing more people to the game in the West Tennessee region. TGF President Dick Horton commented, “Austin will build on the great golf foundation in Memphis and west Tennessee started by Jimmy Darr, who has left the position to start a business venture outside of the golf industry. Austin brings to the position a wealth of networking and relationships in the West Tennessee community.”

“We look for Austin to create extensive youth programs that will need funding support, with the idea that Memphis money will stay in the local market- we have long stated ‘all golf is local,’ said Horton.

Before joining the TGF, Chinn served as first assistant golf professional at Germantown Country Club in Germantown, Tennessee. Austin started his golf career at Ridgeway Country Club as an outside golf services and served four years at Mirimichi as Tournament Coordinator. He was elected to PGA Membership in June 2017.Chinn is a graduate of the University of Memphis where he received a Bachelors degree in Psychology. He has received accolades for his golf management, including being awarded Assistant Professional of the Year in the West Tennessee Chapter of the PGA of America in 2015.

“I am very excited to begin a new career with the Tennessee Golf Foundation. My heart is in the promotion and the growth of golf, especially with young people. I am a lifelong Memphian and I can't wait to give back to my community,” said Chinn.
