The 30th Annual Tennessee Mid-Amateur Championship presented by Gentleman Jack kicks off at 7:30 in the morning at the fantastic Spring Creek Ranch in Collierville, Tennessee.

The field includes three time Mid-Am Champion Todd Burgan, six individuals that participated in the US Senior Amateur Championship last week at The Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minn (Mike Poe, Tim Jackson, Buzz Fly, Ed McDugle, John Fisher, Steve Golliher). Four of the six advanced to the match play portion including local favorite Tim Jackson. Jackson a six-time Tennessee Mid-Amateur Champion and two-time US Mid-Amateur Champion is going for his 20th Tennessee Golf Association title this week. He is looking to build on momentum of winning the Senior Match Play Championship conducted at Five Oaks Country Club in August and winning the Senior Amateur on this very golf course in 2016.

Craig Smith is in the field and looking to find his first TGA win since being the last amateur to win the SunTrust Tennessee State Open in 2012. Ryan Greer is another former Mid-Amateur champion that is trying to add to his total after winning in 2014 at The Honors Course. Danny Green tries for his fifth Tennessee Mid-Am Championship this week. The former US Mid-Amateur champion is searching for his 10th individual championship. Steve Golliher, the 1996 Tennessee Mid-Amateur Champion, is trying to build momentum from making the match play bracket at the US Senior Amateur and win his second Mid-Am Title.

The Tennessee Golf Association would like to thank Spring Creek Ranch for hosting the 30th Tennessee Mid-Amateur Championship as well as all of the volunteers who make it possible to conduct the event.

About the Tennessee Golf Association

In 1914, the Tennessee Golf Association (TGA) was organized at Memphis Country Club as an association of five private clubs. The objective of the Association, as stated in its Constitution, "shall be to promote the game of golf in Tennessee." From these small origins the TGA has become an association which now includes over 200 member clubs, courses, and organizations, comprised of over 32,000 individuals from across the state.
